High Protein Low Sugar Cookies

Who doesn’t love cookies? I know I can’t say no to a delicious, soft chewy chocolate chip cookie. In an ideal world, I would eat cookies every day. In an attempt to feel less guilty about my cookie obsession, I created this high-protein alternative. It’s also a great way to get a bit more protein into my kids. I find this recipe actually transforms cookies from a treat to a snack, so that’s a major win in my book!

High Protein Low Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies, makes 12

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1/4 cup melted or soft peanut butter (I use natural)
  • 1/8 cup maple syrup (you could get away with even less if you prefer)
  • 1 t vanilla

Mix ingredients together well. Then add:

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1/4 cup oat flour ( or use an extra 1/2 cup almond flour)
  • 1 1/2 scoops vanilla protein powder (I use Canada Protein Powder, you can get it at Costco)
  • 1/4 t baking soda and powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Once mixed roll cookies into balls and press down with your hand, so they aren’t too puffy.

Bake at 325 degrees Celsius for 7 minutes.
